DELMER PHIL Age 73, of Mt. Washington, passed away on January 3, 2016, at the Wellington Regional Hospital in Florida after a long illness. A gathering of longtime friends were with him and a remembrance dinner was held afterwards. He is survived by Diane, the love of his life and his wife of 37 years. Phil graduated from Washington and Jefferson College and the University of Pittsburgh with an engineering degree and began his career at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He later worked for other companies as he progressed into various corporate positions within the Pittsburgh area. Despite his many health challenges, Phil was also an avid golfer with a competitive spirit and with that spirit he won many golf tournaments as a member of Edgewood Country Club. He also won an Allegheny County Senior Golf Championship. He was on the board of the Mt. Washington Community Development Corporation and was involved in many decisions to help improve the community and city that he loved. Much gratitude goes to Dr. Joseph T. Grice and his wonderful staff for all their continued care over the years. Phil loved animals and had planned to be a veterinarian. If you wish, a donation to an animal shelter of your choice or something to your favorite charity would be a nice memorial remembrance. Phil, we will always carry your memory in our hearts.
