
KENNEDY ELEANOR (CABLE) Age 89, of Cranberry Township, formerly Mt. Lebanon, died on Saturday, January 16, 2016, and is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on May 21, 1926, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Edward Wallace and Evaline McCombs (Porter) Cable. Beloved wife for 65 years of the late James Nelson Kennedy; loving mother of Darlene (Dave) Brewer of Gibsonia, Colleen (John) Gropp of Duquesne, and Marlene (Gary) Swindell of Texas; sister of the late Edward Cable, Mildred Stewart, Margaret Miller, and Bert Cable; grandmother of Joshua (Nikki) Gropp, Jordan Gropp, Seth Gropp, Jesse (Audra) Swindell, Andrew (Beth) Swindell, and Hunter (Emily) Swindell; step- grandmother of Sarah (Shaun) Eckels, Cherith (Jeff) Kahl, and Daniel (Sarah) Brewer; great-grandmother of Caroline Swindell and Callie Swindell. Also survived by seven step- great-grandchildren. Family will welcome friends Thursday 4-7 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS & SONS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1600 Stone Mansion Dr., Sewickley, PA 15143, Franklin Park/Wexford. Interment will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA. Memorial services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community, Cranberry Lake Grille, Oak Grove Building, Ground Floor, 100 Norman Dr., Cranberry Twp., PA 16066. Rev. Dr. Jared Ott, officiating. A devoted member and volunteer of Christ Church at Grove Farm, Eleanor was a prayer warrior and spent countless hours reading her bible. She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, and helping her daughters as a seamstress throughout the years, a practice which she proudly passed on. Eleanor also loved to travel extensively and spent the winter months in Ft. Walton Beach, FL with her husband, James.
